Broadway Center Education and Outreach
The Broadway Center profoundly strengthens student learning in four key areas:
- Provide unique content through 20 school-time matinees for students from pre-kindergarten through high school with the best professional ensembles from around the nation engage students in learning about world culture, history, science, language arts and more.
- Provide a deep and meaningful training ground for teachers to expand their skills through the arts.
- As Washington State’s only Kennedy Center Partner in Education (founded and managed by our nation’s performing arts center in Washington, DC), the Broadway Center is a vital link to arts training services to our local teaching partners in the Tacoma, Bethel, and Puyallup School Districts.
- As a founding partner of one of the greatest education success stories in the nation, the Broadway Center provides staff, venues, content and support to Arts Impact, a two-year teacher training intensive.
- Our Graduate Teaching Program program offers additional training to teachers while also giving them the chance to earn extended education credits to deepen their credentials and abilities.
- Provide meaningful Community Outreach through in-class connection between students and working artists where hands-on learning can take place with masters of their craft.
