Bring the history and legacy of civil rights to life for your students with this theatrical assembly! Our 2017 production is created in partnership with OSPI and marks the 75th anniversary of Executive Order 9066, which authorized the forced removal and incarceration of Japanese Americans during World War II. Inspired by true stories of South Sound families, this play examines how this chapter of American history connects with the Civil Rights era of Dr. King and the ways we can uphold civil rights for all today. Supporting curricula developed with Densho: The Japanese American Legacy Project and KCTS public television.
