Israeli-born conductor Yaniv Attar takes Sinfonietta audiences on an incredible journey through the life of a hero. Curt Lowens, who survived the Kristallnacht terrors of 1938 Germany, went on to become a Dutch Resistance fighter and later an actor in Hollywood. Erich Parce narrates the Northwest premier of this work by Sharon Farber, who will also be in attendance. The composition also features cello soloist Amit Peled, lauded by the New York Times for his “seductive timbre and an emotionally pointed approach to phrasing that made you want to hear him again.” This heroic tale is perfectly paired with Beethoven’s third symphony, subtitled ‘Eroica’ by the composer himself.”
