Neverland Will Enchant Pantages Stage

When Broadway Center presents

Peter Pan: The High Flying Broadway Musical

Sponsored by Columbia Bank and Franciscan Health System

Tacoma, WA –  Peter Pan: The High Flying Broadway Musical will enchant the Pantages Theater on January 16, 2008 at 7:30pm. J.M. Barrie’s beloved classic and magical adventure captures the zany antics of the lost boys, high-stepping pirates, the delightfully dangerous Captain Hook and the perennial charm of a boy who will never grow up.

Written by Scotish novelist and playwright J.M. Barrie (1860–1937), Peter Pan was first presented on the stage in 1904. In 1911, Barrie novelized the play into a book, Peter Pan and Wendy. Peter Pan, a fierce swordfighter, spends his never-ending childhood adventuring on the small island of Neverland as leader of his gang, the Lost Boys. The story features some fantastical elements, including Peter’s magical powers, such as the power to fly, and his friends include a fairy named Tinkerbell.  J. M. Barrie left the copyright of Peter Pan to the Hospital of Sick Children at Great Ormond Street in London, and thousands of children have benefited from his gift in the years since his death.

Brooke Stone stars in this production as Peter Pan. Stone has recently been seen in national tours of Hairspray, Beauty and the Beast and Grease.  Gary Kimble will appear as Captain Hook. Kimble has delighted audiences internationally in his award-winning My Fair Lady tour and nationally with his performances in Annie, 42nd Street, The Music Man and The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas.
