Presents a Spectrum of September Performances

 

Tacoma , WA – During the final weeks of September, the Broadway Center will launch its 2007-2008 Season with a two-week span of shows that are a glimpse of the new season ahead. As the number of events offered double this year, the Broadway Center is proud to present performances that embody the new era of performing arts for the region and plans to continue the pursuit of “Calling people to connect in the heart of Tacoma .”

 

Beginning the season with the Spectacular Spectacle Series, Cirqueworks Birdhouse Factory is a seamless blend of circus and art created in a giant mechanized factory setting where workers are acrobats, clowns, contortionists and storytellers! Don't miss the opening weekend with the high-energy fusion of circus and theater of Cirqueworks Birdhouse Factory . With three shows in the Pantages Theater beginning on Friday, September 21, 2007 at 7:30pm and continuing to Saturday, September 22 with two shows at 3:00pm and 7:30pm. Cirqueworks Birdhouse Factory is a performance suited for families and all ages. Purchase four tickets to any of the Cirqueworks performances and receive a $25 bonus gift card to Sea Grill Restaurant in Downtown Tacoma.

 

The season continues on Thursday, September 27, 2007 at 7:30pm with Dark Star Orchestra: Recreating the Grateful Dead Experience. Dark Star Orchestra will perform as part of Broadway Center 's American Music Series. Recreating legendary Grateful Dead classics, the Dark Star Orchestra performs the exact set list of one of the Dead's 2,500 concerts, song by song. Called “a cover band for people who don't like cover bands” by the Washington Post , Dark Star Orchestra will revive the Dead on the stage at the Pantages Theater, in an all ages performance.

 

Completing the final week in September to honor Mexican Independence Day, Mariachi Los Camperos de Nati Cano celebrates Mexican heritages and culture. Mariachi Los Camperos de Nati Cano kicks off the World Rhythms Series with a performance at the Pantages Theater on Friday, September 28, 2007 at 7:30pm. Led by Natividad “Nati” Cano, explore Mexico 's dynamic culture with this world-class ensemble and the distinguished driving force in the rich tradition of mariachi.
