Tacoma, WA – Rhythmic jazz and tap dance will energize the Pantages Theater when Acia Gray & Tapestry Dance Company performs The Souls of Our Feet on Wednesday February 13th, 2008 at 7:30pm. In celebration of American Tap Dance and led by Acia Gray and special guest Dianne Walker, the dance troupe from Austin, Texas will bring vibrancy to the stage with their fast paced footwork.
Paying tribute to the best of rhythm tap masterpieces - from Fred Astaire & Eleanor Powell to The Nicholas Brothers as well as contemporary works – masterpiece dances will be paired with historic film clips. Recognizable dance performances include Singin’ in the Rain, In the Navy and Littlest Rebel.
Led by the live jazz music of the Eddy Hobizal Jazz Trio and featuring international solo artists Dianne Walker and Acia Gray, this one-of-a-kind concert brings swingin’ jazz and 18 flying feet keeping time to the pulse of this wonderful and inspiring American art-form; a celebration of rhythm at its best!
Acia Gray is the founder of Tapestry Dance Company and an accomplished dancer who has shared the stage with the tap legends, including Lon Chaney, Chuck Green, Steve Condos, Brenda Bufalino, Donald O’Connor, Dianne Walker and many others.
